In 2002, we asked John Greven to help us build a travel guitar with a detachable neck and a small footprint… oh and a humongous sound. He responded with a spruce/maple single O sized monster with a single bolt controlled neck. The guitar sounded unbelievably good and the neck mechanism worked perfectly!
So this is a mark 2 in many respects. Although with the same spruce/maple combination, we have pushed the limits of this model with a tight grained Smokies Adirondack top. The neck is now mahogany for better balance and the neck joint has been refined by John to the point of near perfection. Earlier pinless bridge has given way to a more traditional pinned bridge for better safety. John Greven had this to say:
” Sounds really good and plays like butter. Crisp, has a nice pop to the notes, is full for a small box.”
